A documentary filmmaker who spent five years making a film about the hippies of the New World district in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, suddenly finds himself working at the President's Office. As time passes, he finds it ever harder to tame the documentarian in him —a strange inner compulsion demands: you have to make a film about the president's life! Mission impossible, obviously—no filming allowed behind these closed doors! We follow President Toomas Hendrik Ilves during the last year and a half of his second term. A new epoch has begun in world politics: Russian aggression in Ukraine — to top it off, the president has to face problems in his private life. An intellectual who has read shelffuls of books meets world leaders, engages in foreign politics at the highest level, and yet feels most at home as a DJ, spinning records at a nightclub. How to reconcile a youthful and sometimes unruly head of state with societal expectations?
