LA LIXEIRA - η αξιοπρέπεια του αόρατου (La Lixeira - The Invisibles' Dignity)

The documentary "La Lixeira - The Invisibles' Dignity" depicts the harsh reality of life in the Maputo dump, Mozambique's capital city. Around 700 families, including men, women, and children, scavenge for food and materials amidst the garbage, struggling for survival. The dump, "La Lixeira," becomes a metaphysical landscape, an allegory of the modern world. Here, tangible and intangible waste, human refuse, merge in a visual short circuit. Humanity is reduced to rubbish. The film focuses on "A Mundzuku Ka Hina," an educational workshop on photography, graphics, and writing founded by Roberto Galante for the children of the dump, offering them vocational training and a path out of despair.
