We are the models. We hold the pose to be depicted, for our bodies to originate images and works of art. Naked, we outstandingly catch the eye. We freeze to be observed for a long time and to be meticulously examined. And yet, we always vanish. "Medusa's gaze" is a visual and poetic exploration of the art of live modelling. Through Ellénore Lemattre's performance, the film captures the experience of stillness, tension, and fatigue that a model undergoes while posing. The narrative is not merely descriptive but also deeply emotional and reflective. The camera embraces Ellénore's body, transforming it into a living sculpture, while the poetic narration emphasizes the connection between body, image, and art history. The film transcends the boundaries of documentary, offering an aesthetic experience bordering on cinematic experimentation. Image and sound blend harmoniously to create an atmosphere of mystery and beauty, inviting reflection on the nature of art, the body, and human existence.
