The Golden Lion winner in Venice, Lia Beltrami, presents a story in the slums of Calcutta, where three girls manage to save themselves and pursue their dreams. "When my heart is hard and dry, come down to me, O my Lord, with a rain of indulgence. When grace is lost from life, come to me with an outburst of singing. When the noise of work raises its roar on all sides and keeps me away, sideways, then come, Thou, O Lord of Silence, with Thy peace and rest." (R. Tagore) This is Calcutta: she vibrates in the lyrics of Tagore, walks in Gandhi's footsteps, breathes the love of Mother Teresa. It is precisely here that Bharati, Rahima and Sumita were born: under a bridge, along the railway station, in the red light zone. Their stories are entangled in the house of the brothers of Providence, where dreams come true. Rahima became a flight attendant. Sumita left her abusive husband. Unfortunately, Bharati left just before she finished editing the film, leaving behind a son...
