The Mayor of Kalamata, Athanasios P. Vasilopoulos, expresses pride in the success of the International Documentary Festival of the Peloponnese. He emphasizes the importance of the festival as a cultural institution that is constantly growing and has gained international recognition. He thanks the organizers and declares the full support of the municipality for this important initiative.

 

"It is with great joy and pride that we witness the Peloponnisos International  Documentary Festival evolve into a significant cultural institution for our region. Year after year, this festival continues to grow, expand, and has gained international recognition in recent years.

The Municipality of Kalamata has embraced the Peloponnisos International Documentary Festival and has supported its organization from its very first steps, a fact that the art-loving public of Kalamata and the wider region has warmly welcomed.

This year, as the Festival celebrates its first decade, its dynamic presence is reaffirmed. A festival rich in screenings, seminars, and parallel events, it opens its doors to the local community and offers educational programs.

The Festival's trajectory is upward, and we hope it will continue on this path for many years to come. Congratulations to the organizers, and I wish them every success in achieving their goals.

As a Municipality and as a Municipal Authority, we will continue to embrace such initiatives. After all, Kalamata has a special and unique relationship with Culture.
