In the animation workshop that will take place as part of the Peloponnese International Doc Film Festival, the trainer, director, and animator, Dimitris Armenakis, will introduce students to the art of animation. By creating their own paper characters, students will learn how to make a stop-motion animated film. 

Dimitris Armenakis is a director and animator, born in Athens. He studied at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, where he directed his first short animation film titled "Absorbed" (2017). He graduated from the MA Animation program at the Royal College of Art in London in 2019, where he directed two animation films: "First Thirst" (2018) and "All You Can Eat" (2019).

The film "All You Can Eat" was screened at over 40 animation and film festivals worldwide. It won the "Stratos Stasinos" Best Student Animation Film Award from the Greek Animation Association, Silver Award at the 1.4 Awards in England, a Vimeo Staff Pick, and a special mention at the Thessaloniki Animation Festival (TAF). He has been awarded by ARTWORKS (2021) and is a Fellow of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artists Support Program. 

He is currently in production of his next film "The Synthetic Age" with the support of the National Center for Audiovisual Media and Communication and the Greek Film Center.
