The Peloponnese Documentary Film Festival travels to Nafplio from November 28th to 30th, presenting a program of films exploring key aspects of the human experience. The selected films focus on themes such as the fight for civil rights, the power of art, social inequalities, and the aftermath of conflict. Audiences will witness stories from diverse corners of the globe, from Canada to Papua New Guinea, prompting reflection on equality, justice, and human resilience. The program includes documentaries examining the interplay between art and society, the struggle for rights, and the process of confronting past traumas. Beyond the screenings, opportunities for discussion and exchange of ideas with the filmmakers themselves will be offered, creating a rich and engaging cinematic event for documentary enthusiasts. On Friday, November 29, 2024, Lia Beltrami will hold a masterclass at the student community of the University of Peloponnese in Nafplio, in collaboration with the Department of Theatre Studies and the Postgraduate Program "Creative Writing, Theatre and Cultural Industries". During the masterclass, Beltrami's documentary on human rights entitled 'Wells of hope' will be screened. The masterclass and the specific screening will take place in the Leda Tasopoulou Hall at the Central Teaching Rooms of the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Peloponnese (Vas. Georgiou & Irakleous Streets, Nafplio) at 12.00 pm. The other screenings of Lia Beltrami's documentaries will follow on the same day at 6.00 pm. At the 'Trianon' Theater in Nafplio (Syntagma Square) in collaboration with the Municipality of Nafplio.
