Animation seminar for children with Thomas Kunstler

For the educational program of the 8th Peloponnisos International Doc Film Festival

An animation seminar with plasticine figures, especially for primary school children and people with moderate mental disabilities, will be delivered, in the context of the 8th event, by the director and dear friend of the Peloponnisos Documentary Film Festival, Thomas Kunstler! The seminar will take place in Kalamata, at special school “The Garden of Lyssos” and at the 12th Primary School of Kalamata, and also in Xylokastro.

Brief CV 

Thomas Kunstler was born and raised in Rome. He is an Italian filmmaker and Stop Motion Animator who now lives and works in Athens. He holds a degree in Directing and Documentary Production from Farnham University of Fine Arts in the United Kingdom. His films have been screened at festivals throughout Greece and abroad, such as at Animasyros Film Festival (Syros), Herceg Novi Film Festival (Montenegro), Drama Film Festival (Drama), Aesthetica Short Film Festival (New York), RTS Student Television Awards (London), winning awards as well as Special Mentions Awards. A highlight of his career is his participation in the Berlinale 2020 young talent competition.

Also, in collaboration with Animasyros or independently he organizes and coordinates stop motion animation seminars throughout Greece. The themes of his latest works are inspired by the musical tradition and culture of Greece, with his latest Stop Motion Animation feature film, “Markos” which is in the pre-production stage, as well as the Stop Motion Animation short film “Pink Mountain”, produced by Production House “Studio Bauhaus”.
