The 8th Peloponnisos International Doc Film Festival has the pleasure to host the Lighting Designer of Theater and Cinema, Katerina Maragoudaki, who will deliver a masterclass, entitled "Light in the performing arts", for those who wish to be introduced to magic. In this, topics such as visual perception in relation to light, the lens and the camera, the principles of image drama, the distinctive properties of lighting, the method of studying lighting and lighting sources will be approached.

 

The seminar, lasting a total of 12 hours, is specifically addressed to students - actors of the schools who want to be introduced to the magic of Lighting in the Performing Arts. Aim, to understand and undertake the research process, utilizing this knowledge in their own artistic creations. The equipment that will be used throughout the lessons are: camera, lenses, tripod, monitors, etc. The masterclass is implemented in collaboration with the Department of Theatrical Studies of the University of Peloponnese and will take place in Nafplio, on April 5, 6 and 7, 2022. The duration of the seminar is 4 hours daily (with an intermediate coffeebreak), while participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Brief CV

Katerina Maragoudaki is Director of Photography and Lighting Designer. He was born in Chania and lives in Athens. In 1986 he graduated from the Department of Management of the TEI of Chalkida, while in 1989 he attended seminars in Photography at the Italian television RAI. In 1990 he graduated from the Lykourgos Stavrakos Film School. She continued her studies in Australia and in 1993 received the Certificate Of International Cinematographer’s Masterclass Australian Film, Television and Radio School.

She has done Postgraduate Studies at the Department of Theatrical Studies of the University of Cyprus (2018). She is a founding member of the Film Academy (EAK), a founding member of the Association of Greek Directors of Photography (G.S.C) and a member of the Panhellenic Scientific Association of Theatrologists (PESYTH). She worked as a Technical Supervisor at the International Milos Festival, in 2018 and 2019.
